Martin’s talent for inventive drawing and painting was apparent from early childhood, and he has been an active artist since studying at art school in the 1970s. It was at this time that flight first surfaced as a central theme in his work, expressing hope and liberation reflecting his own life experience.

Following his successful production of a number of interactive presentations in Leicester, Martin has worked with a renewed enthusiasm on several complementary themes investigating colour, symmetry and light.

In a  Son et Lumiere presentation at the Swaledale Festival 2010, fifty of his pieces were projected onto Grinton Church tower. The event was well received by those in attendence. With this current, confident work the artist seeks to engage and communicate to his audience the importance of the experience of freshness, joy and hope that is still available in life.
